Phoenix Keating in Collaboration with Andéol

Phoenix Keating is the most multi-talented creative I know in Sydney. Keating not only creates a smokey eye which would turn Lara Stone’s head; he plays the piano, styles, fashion designs, creates complicated hair looks and even runs a fashion store in Bondi. No wonder he is so multi-faceted, coming from the same blood line as Fela Kuti. Keating’s grandfather Fela, is the famous Nigerian multi-instrumentalist musician and composer, who famously was a human rights activist and maverick. Watch Fela here
We can see from where Phoenix gets his uniquely eclectic style!

Emilie Cacace, works with her mother Penny at Think Positive Designer Prints. The duo have been printing my gorgeous artist prints for nearly a year now. I stumbled across Emilie’s own artwork one day in her studio and fell in love with her intricate and detailed designs. I thought a collaboration should be born and we included her, last minute, in the spring showcase. I paired her sensual leopard print with Phoenix’s bold forms. This particular puffer jacket can be seen here. On the day of the White Rabbit photo shoot, just as we were about to take the final shot, Emilie turned up with many scarves and wraps, freshly printed! Phoenix’s spontaneous styling worked magic. Models Eliza and Hayley didn’t even get second glances in the mirror, before I pointed the two girls into the direction of a sculpture that looked like a sand pit and announced “You are Queenslander girls gone Grey Gardens at a stony beach”. Photographer Jessica Klingelfuss snapped away.
